State Meet 2007

O.M.F.G. What a meet. Actually, what a two-day meet! Here is a quick recap.

Friday: Almost got there after 5, (late, since check-in was at 5) because we got stuck in traffic. Rushed in, got my practice runs in, although not that many because there were so many girls. Opened at 11-3, then went to 11-9, then 12-3. I cleared 12-3 again! Second time!! Yay! And that vault got me into the FINALS on Saturday! I was seeded 7th out of the 9 girls.

Saturday: Semi nervous, but I kept telling myself to have fun. Goals were to make opening height (11-4) and then PR. And guess what? I did both! I cleared 11-4, but then had some trouble at 11-10. I started panicking after I missed my first two attempts. But thank GOD, I cleared it on my last attempt. That really freaked me out. Next height, 12-4. Would be a PR. I'm on the 135 holding higher (I think a fist higher than usual) and YESSSS, I clear it on my first attempt!!! OMG OMG! PR!!! Next height, 12-10. First attempt, SNAP. Yes, a literal snap. I broke my first pole! Oops, I think it was all my fault though because on my 12-4 vault, I had hit the pole with my spikes.......But yeah, I brok the pole. Kind of scary, but I got myself to not freak out. Went to the 140. OMG, that's the biggest pole I've ever been on in my life! I had some okay attempts at 12-10, but I never really got up. But I never ran through. ^_^ So I had a pretty great day. Hehe. I had started warming up on a 120, and by the end of the meet, I was on a 140!!! YAY! And even better, I placed FIFTH in STATE!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap! I got this hella cool medal! Hehe, it has a pink ribbon!

And my coaches, especially BS, should be proud; I actually interacted with the other vaulters. XP Even though Katie wasn't there. I talked mostly to Emily Matoon, a sophmore from the San Diego area. I wasstill too shy to say much, if anything, to the other vaulters. Sigh. Why am I so shy??? Argh. But Natasha Barthel told me congrats which was cool. I sounded really stupid when I tried telling her good job too. XP Gaaah, getting nervous in front of the amazing vaulters. GWI is next. I think I'm gonna vault night if I get in for that section.

::EDIT::
Wanna see that awesome pole breakage? Lol. XP Pole Breakage

OMFG JACKIE!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMFG!!!!!! I AM SO PROUD OF JACKIE!!!! SHE'S MY HERO!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!! SHE FRICKING CLEARED 11 FEET!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG OMG!!! I AM SO EXCITED!! HOLY CRAP, MAJOR PR COOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was amazing! She cleared it on her third attempt; the bar bounced up like a foot, but it came back down and she cleared it!!!!!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG. She started at 8-8 I believe, went 9-0, 9-4, 9-8, 10-0, 10-4, 10-8, 11-0 (which she cleared!) and ended when she missed 11-4. BUT OMG, she had such an amazing day!!!!!! AND, to topt that off, she got THIRD place!!!! Hahaha, we (Jackie, Katie, and I) went 1-2-3. All asians. Hehehe. I love you guys!!!!

Katie and I both went at 10; she made it 1st attempt, me 2nd. We both passed to 11-0, me clearing 1st, she 2nd. Passed to 11-8, but I wasn't bringing it on the runway until my last attempt which was bad. Darn. If I had brought it like I had on my last attempt on my previous two, I might've had a chance. Oh well. I got first!

Then I realized I still had to triple. Heh, oops, I thought I was done. But went over. First jump was 35 something. I was like, yes, I got in the 35's. SECOND attempt was a 35'7"!!!!! OMG, I was so close to PR'ing. But not quite. Passed my thrid. I got into the finals with that though. 1st attempt in finals: so-so, low 35. 2nd: REALLY bad, not even 35. Damn. Starting to panic. Have to bring it. brought it down, brought my legs up more. 3rd attempt: 35'8.75"!!! Hahahaha, I PR'd by .25 of an inch I think. But I was happy; I finally PR'd in triple. And I managed to grab thrid place. Heh, after two people who got 36's. I really want to get to 36 feet now.

MOC is on Friday/Saturday. I only have to be there Friday though. I have to concentrate now. I have to bring it on Friday; no slacking off or backing off. Competition will be intense.

Pole Vault Party

OMG, Randy's house is friggin awesome!!!!! He built it himself and it is SO AMAZING. No lie. And he has the prettiest views I've seen in a house. Even better, he has a pool table, a foosball table, and an air hockey table. Lol, and a bread maker. Just to throw in that. XP But that's me. Anyhoo, lots of ppl came. Had fun with the foosball mainly. I suck, lol. And Satoshi in semi drag is pretty hilarious. And disturbing. Ha, and fun with Lisa and trying to turn on her car alarm inside the house to scare the ppl coming up. Didn't really work tho; too bad. But LOTS of fun. ^_^
